Read More Movie starts out ok, then it flips & takes you backwards in the story. You then have 3 seperate stories going on at one time so the entire movie is jumping around. With all the jumping around of the black haired ghost girl & the meowing cat boy they sure are racking up those airline miles jumping from Japan to the USA. Half way through you want to turn it off but it's one of those movies you can't help but watch hoping it will get better. All the morons in the movie that just sit there staring at the black haired ghost girl without slapping her, kicking her, or pushing her back under the water just leave you dumbfounded. The only way to look at it is that it's *Natural Selection*. The ending was terrible, I knew I shouldn't have rented this but since there were no other new movies in I gave in. If there's nothing else in and you have 1 hr. & 45 min. of your life to waste I would recommend watching water boil before renting this movie. Yeah, this movie is *that* great, lol. Read More First movie was great and the few things that progess the story thus far is not enought. i mean the ending was just as bad as superman returns ending. the characters seem dumber than the next. YEA kick, punch, fight back at the ghost. Hell how about talking to it and asking it to stop. the only thing you should want to see in this movies is what happened to gellar's character(what a waste of talent). Hey here is a thought get to an japanese priest and have an exorcism. wait that would be to simple....the producers and film company couldn't make sequels and milk the franchise if they did that. the constant jumping around to other characters is also annoying. gellar dies, her sister dies to , the grudge spreads and kill more people andand does anyone in japan notice! even the alternate ending is a same. this movie is LAME! there will be a grudge 3 mark my words! maybe they will end this francise and let it rest in peace. I was VERY disappointed with the way the story developed. It was just repetitive and not scary. It started out great...then repetitive with a horror scene over and over...if a movie has no up and down climax wise, it will be boring. The movie had alot more creative 'jumpers' than the first which I liked, but then the story behind why the grudge was still going on got a little confusing. Don't get the movie having high expectations because it didn't live up to the levels of its first movie...but a fun thrilling ride though...a few jumpy scenes here and there...but over all not impressive. I think that there is just too much going on at once, and too many characters to follow. However, I still think it is a good movie that will give you a few scares. When I saw it in theatres I was the only one of my seven friends that knew what was going on, so I had to explain everything twice. The acting is descent, and the special effects okay. This movie was nothing extraordinary, but I will still recommend it to horror movie buffs... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More It was good to see an original story added to the Ju-On series that didn't borrow from Ju-On 2. The acting ranged from very good (Allison) to air head bad (Vanessa and Miyuki). Since this was primarily a Japanese production, it was puzzling that none of the Japanese dialogue was subtitled. The audio defaults to Dolby Digital 5.1 and makes moderate use of surround sound. As for extras, there's a "Tales from the Grudge" feature (7:58 min) containing three short, amateur films related to the storyline and introduced by one of the producers, a "Cast & Crew Reel Change Montage" feature (8:08 min) containing shots of people holding the scene clapper (set to spooky music with no dialogue), a "Featurettes" selection (49:52 min) containing four featurettes that review aspects of the movie's production, a "Deleted Scenes" feature (12:29 min), containing four deleted scenes and an alternate ending and trailers for ten other movies. Definitely recommended. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
