This movie had to be the worst screen adaptation of a book ever. Almost nothing followed the origianl plot. The names were the same, and that was about it. Katrina was missing from the movie, Roran made a 3 minute cameo, there were no elves, no dwarves, horrible dialog, and no character development. It was as if the director and screenwriter read the cliff notes to the book the night before production, and that was it. Everything that made the book a best-seller was completely missing from the movie. I almost had to turn the movie off in the middle because I was so disappointed. Im glad I only wasted $4 to rent the movie instead of having seen it in the theaters. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It was so rushed that it never really developed. I felt like I was being ushered on a museum tour 5 minutes before closing. No character development at all, nothing is really explained except at the begining and the acting is really horrible. The ending was especially disappointing because they left it open for a sequel which will never be made because of the poor box office turnout. The one character who did give a good performance was Brom (Jeremy Irons). Everyone was there to get a pay check. Another plus was the Dragon CGI. Really looked nice and made you believe it could be real. I think this is where the majority of the budget went which was something like 90 Million. This movie could have been much better if 40 minutes or so were addedto it. I really wanted this movie to be in the same caliber as Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter but it fell far short. Read More I have read the book and expected it to somewhat close to it. but once i new fox was going to be producing the film and saw the cast i knew i was going to be disappointed with this film becasue all fox whants to do is make a cheep crapy film to make lots of money off of. Aside from not following the book i still don't know how you could enjoy it that much any way. there was no character development at all we were throw in to the middle of a story in which my wife who has not read the book had to keep asking me what happenning because we were comletly lost about who was who and why thery were there. but what can you expect to take a best selling novel and make only a 90min movie out of it. it will stink to high heaven. Read More I haven't read the book but I figured it would like the Chronicles of Narnia ( I didn't read that book either and I loved the movie), it wasn't. Eragon isn't bad bad, I just couldn't get into it. It seemed very predictable and felt like a "seen this, seen that" movie. It feels like a mix between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings with a dash of the King Arthur stories. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
