It appears as though the film is shot in digital... kinda has a home video look and feel. Don't let this deter you though... the acting and direction is top notch. Great little movie.

A good low budget film with many insights into the ultimate existential question: death. Many of the scenes will "stick" with you after the film is over. The major problem is the tendency to lump all Asians into a single character and oversimplify some Buddhist ideas. Nevertheless, if you want to see a thoughtful movie, I recommend this one.

The cinematography employs "artsy" handheld camcorder effects complete with way too close closeups, jerky pans and rapid in and out zooms. We find this technique to be not only annoying but also physically painful as it gives us headaches. Because of this unpleasant (and hopefully short-lived faddish) cinematography we ejected the DVD after about 10 minutes of viewing. Can't really comment on plot, acting, etc., but from the 10 minutes we did see, we don't feel we really missed much.
