Read More This is a great movie if you want to sexualize your kids - Ashanti walks around in a half shirt and is told to change until she looks sexy. The movie makes references to "Girls Gone Wild" and has a literal scene of nipple-rubbing. The only two cameo appearances are Quentin Tarrentino (Pulp Fiction) and Ozzy Osbourne's wayward daughter (was Larry Flynt not available?). Oh and the Wizard of Oz makes an appearance as a dominatrix in a strapless bustier. Wildly disappointing. Also wildly inappropriate for kids. What is sad, is that the sexualizing scenes add no value to the movie. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Ashanti is worse in this movie than Beyonce in Austin Powers' Goldmember. But, you can't blame the casting. It's not like there was an all African-American version of the Wizard of Oz with a phenomenal singer acting horribly as Dorothy to forlorn casting...
Oh wait, yes there was...it was called THE WIZ! Kermit cannot dance like MJ, and I want my money back!
I have officially been forced to grow out of the Muppets :(

Read More I'm not sure how they can say this movie is family friendly; there are so many references to sex, I was astonished. Also, the underlying "moral of the story" is that being famous is more important than your family. The adults in this movie are depicted as ridiculous and mindless; the aunt being simple and easily angered and the uncle a spineless pushover. The main character has nothing in her brain either, except that she hates working and would rather by wearing sparkley shoes be "confident and sexy" not to mention, rich and be famous. I do not recommend this movie to anyone, nor should it be touted as being friendly to families.
This movie is painful drivel. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

There are no drug references I don't know what the other reviewers are referring to but there are adult type humor that only mom and dad would get thrown in the goes over the kids heads. As long as the kids don't get it, its harmless. But as far as a funny and entertaining muppets movie this is at the bottom of the muppet heap. 2 1/2 stars a let down. Almost ok, but not quite worth maybe one viewing if you are muppet fan. Maybe. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I watched this with my 4 and 8 year old without them being scarred too much. Most was over their heads. I enjoyed it more than they did., but purely for the muppets. And if you remember the show, it wasn't made for children.
As for the story, it is pure fantasy. Nothing important to learn here. Dorothy goes to Oz, makes friends, realizes she misses home. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
