9 out of 11 people found this review helpful Zodiac is wonderfully created, with a definitely human side to everything, through Gyllenhaal's character. You can feel the madness of those in the era who truly gave up everything to track and find the killer through his and Downey Jr's spectacular acting. It's hard to watch, knowing that the filmic representations of the murders did at some point actually take place. However, it's all tastefully done, and the intensity of this film is great. He made a great villian. The details filled in enough so you understood what happening, without having to see all the blood. The cartoonist's interest in the crime and his pursuit long after the police moved on showed a madness but also strong need to understand and catch the murderer. Good acting and story. I had a hard time relaxing last night after seeing it, but the movie, especially the second half, is really engaging and suspenseful. More than I expected out of this movie. The movie itself keeps me interested with the characters and script, but this is disappointing to me because it came from the works of David Fincher. Worth 1 Watch. One of the Best movies we have seen in years. Great cast, superb acting, well written & flawless direction.
Jake Gyllenhaal's performance & character were amazing. If it were even possible to get confused with the timeline or simply let your mind wonder, his character would always fill in the blanks and get you back on track.
If you hate movies that jump from the present, to the past, to the future & back again without making it clear - You'll Love this movie for it's straight forwardness & lack of "artsiness"!

She and I both agreed that filmographically speaking... this movie acheived all the goals necessary for US BOTH TO GIVE IT A 5. And that is hard to do when it comes to my wife.
