Now he seems to get just as much milage out of a blank stare. What was with the intermintable driving scenes and watching him sleep on airplanes? This story could have been told in 1/2 an hour! I hate to see what happens when it goes to television and they add commercials! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

And if non-climatic endings annoy you, don't watch. Other than that, nice dialogue and some interesting scenes. Murray's character was mostly vacant and uninvolved in his own life and made him somewhat boring at times but all in all, it wasn't a complete waste of time. Worth watching with a Sunday morning hangover. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Jim Jarmusch's latest aims to enter a tradition of indie-mainstream crossover films known for their quirky characters and pleasingly offbeat plot elements. Where 'Flowers' fails to deliver is in its overuse of ambiguity in the plot, its disappointingly repetitive soundtrack, and a weak supporting cast. Bill Murray gives a good performance, delightfully understated (as in 'Lost in Translation') as the film's anti-hero, but typically strong leading women like Sharon Stone and Jessica Lange are annoying instead of endearing. Read More Directed by Jim Jarmusch - so expect his subtle drama. (or in this case, dramedy) The movie is about a man Don Johnston ("that's JohnsTon with a T") played by Bill Murray who is on a quest with pink flowers in hand. We are invited along to help solve the "mystery" and look for a happy ending for him. I was disappointed with the ending until I chewed on it for awhile and realized the journey we were taken on was a little different than we THOUGHT we were on, (much like life), however, some philosophical (and some just plain) truths to be had at the end instead. Hmmm did we all learn anything? Probably most did NOT - but good effort by all involved with this film. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I also liked seeing Sharon Stone and Jessica Lange in scenes with Bill. He can hold his own on screen with anyone.
However I kept on thinking of how much this movie reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite in the it was paced and the way the scenes were framed.
I'm glad I rented this movie and I liked watching it. It was sort of road trip movie in some ways like an Oddysey in which Bill's character is visiting his past and also trying to confirm if he has a son from one of his past lovers. He's unmarried and his most recent girlfriend has left him. So he's at a point in his life that's ripe for self-examination. This may not be the kind of movie for a lot of people. But it held some charm for me. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
