5 out of 6 people found this review helpful On the surface, this story appears to move slowly...yet, the tension mounts and flows continually. I see that as a result of amazing visual craft - through stunning cinematography, use of light, and scene creation - and an absolutely captivating performance by Ben Wishaw, whose physical portrayal of Grenouille is remarkable in his ability to convey the psyche of the serial killer - loss, desperation, obsession, and disconnection - without relying on an abundance of dialogue. His character has little to say, but much, much to feel and think. This film is a directorial masterpiece. I was drawn in from the opening scene, twisted and turned and pulled from moment to moment, and at the closing credits, only partially released.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More A director has done their job when a movie provokes the sort of polarity in reviews that you see here. And indication of a good movie in my opinion because it will stick with you. Perfume is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Extremely well written, acted, portrayed. Yes it does inspire some of the deepest darkest parts or ourselves, but not without gracing our hearts with the proposition of Love and doing whatever it takes to get it, even if that means Murder! LOL. Majestic, beautiful, inspiring, lustful, greedy, tempestuous, and overall a Stunning film!!! Bravo!!! Instant Classic Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
