I like the idea of the movie but the main character really stupid. Like at the end when they were driving out of the city and she was still had her freaking cell phone um... lose the cell phone. This is a bad re-make of a Japanese film of the same title. I watched the Japanese version years ago. Needless to say, it was not worthy of a remake. Save your time. Don't even bother with this one. Fast paced but fairly boring and when a movie does that, it fails. Weak character development and scares, but made up in for a half way interesting story. There was no real character development, leaving me to feel rather indifferent to who died ... Read More I went into the theater not knowing what to expect, so I naturally kept hoping it'd get better. It didn't. There was no real character development, leaving me to feel rather indifferent to who died and who lived. The main characted was annoying and stupid, and I kept wishing she would die instead of everyone around her. The plot, full of inconsistencies, was ridiculous and laughable, more than anything. It failed to pull of the whole end-of-the-world-we're-all-gonna-die sense that it was going for (looked like a bad War of the Worlds knockoff). It was more anticlimactic than scary, mostly due to all the times the suspenseful music fools the audience into thinking they're about to see something frightening. Scariest part for me had to have been a mangled half-dead cat in the closet. The ending left me even more annoyed. Overall, the movie just didn't make sense and left me frustrated.
