Read More From the beginning you think "ugg it's another one" but as it moves on you find yourself drawn into the movie. Are the people serious about what they are doing? Did the river actually turn that way ... and that child gives a sense that it's more than what everyone is saying.
From the beginning which starts to draw you in, til the end which leaves wondering for 'what will happen now'. You will find this movie to be a bit more interesting than those who do more preaching than anything else. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

It actually scared me. What I loved most is that you really don't know how it's going to end and it's not one of those movies where you know the ending before you are half way done, it actually catches you by surprise. It was good. It wasn't a very SCARY movie, per se, but set in the deep south, an agnostic heroine, a scientific outlook on the plagues --- definitely makes for an interesting story line. This movie reminds me a lot of The Wicker Man. Both have references to witchcraft and are probably equals in the spook factor. Hilary Swank? I forgot what a good actress she is. Read More When you walk thru blockbuster it is obvious which movies are the big hitters and well you know the B movies. And well this was looking pretty sad B movie with only a few to back it up. But I am always intrigued by the supernatural, religious plight. And well I wanted to see her in a movie that didnt call for her to be so" butched up". Lately I have been disapointed in the caliber of movies coming out lately except from disney of course they have really been hitting the mark. SO back to the movie one of the better ones I have seen in a while I did have one problem constantly having to rewind to understand what the priest was telling her over the phone--so listen closely.
