The characters are fine except for the house itself shich was a big dissapointment once they got inside, too bad it was totally lacking. Maybe older children will enjoy this but that's about it! surprised that Steven Spielberg would allow
some of the insinuations and blunt crassness
in a movie especially marketed for kids.
The few slangs and more adult insinuations
were both out of place and very unnecessary

Read MoreI hate to sound negatvie but I cannot remember the kids name ... the fat kid is just slap on the knee funny. The three kids together were great together. Their personalites add a little something extra to the movie (considering they are not human characters that is quite odd to say). My daughter loves the opening scene (she is nearly 4) when the girl is riding down the sidewalk on her bike singing ... and what follows shortly afterward cracks my daughter up. Monster House was very entertaining movie for all even the ones that were under 10 years of age, and no they did not have any nightmares. About a man's wife who's spirt turn's into a Monster House. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

This film is hilarious and scary on so many levels, but I found it a bit inappropriate for younger viewers. The scenes with the house attacking some of the kids in the movie are really frightining for my 4-year-old neice. Although, she did sneak around our house for something to watch. DON'T ASK! But, overall, this movie is so great, that you'd wanna watch it again and again. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
