This is also a very sad story, so be prepared for that as well. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

John Barry's music moves me deeply, just as it does in "Somewhere in Time". I love the "largeness of the movie" and how it follows the panorama of the music! The relationship between Streep and Redford is nothing short of electric, and I love the dialogue. The African people are precious, and I long to enter into the movie and so often "feel" like I am really there. This will always be one of my favorites. Some of my favorite quotes also come from this movie; the phrase where Streep says that when they are together they speak of nothing "ordinary" and also the quote when she speaks of how blessed she is to have known him "Finch Hatton". Read More This movie is a perfect story of one woman's journey, not just in distance but in understanding. Beautiful photography, beautiful background music, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford - what more could you ask for? The movie is long, but perfect for a time when you are alone and can spend three hours with your emotions. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is probably one of the best films I have seen in a long time and Redford once again proves that he is a force to be reckoned with. Considering that this film came out when I was 8 and now I almost 30, I would not have appreciated this film as I do now. It is a great romance story on a grand scale like Titanic and The New World. The cinematography is gorgeous and I have to Sidney props for filming in Africa. I loved this film and it deserved all the awards that it won. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I like the dreamy reminisense of the story, although at times I found it a trifle slow. The portrayal of the British colonials and others was excellent. The scenery was splendid. Meryl Streep's portrayal of Danish writer, Karen Blexen, was an outstanding and brilliant performance. However, I thought Robert Redford's character was a little wooden. I'm glad that I rented it. Read More I had all but forgotten about this movie until my sister mentioned she had seen it again. Yes, I saw it in theaters when first released, but apparently time softened the impact because when I watched it again, well, how could I have forgotten? Amazing cinematography, music, story - now on my 'favorite movies ever' list along with Rear Window and Gosford Park. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
