This movie takes a fascinating look at the 2004 presidential election and the campaign process which both sides concede is often very dirty business, and one of the main strengths of the film is that we get to hear from both sides, without a narrator steering the questions. However, there is no illusion that this multimillion-dollar charade is really not all about style over substance and revisionist mythology over reality. But as we all know in a culture dominated by sound bite TV, the best PR campaign modeled around the best “actor” for the part gets the job.
