Yes, the Edge was Holywood's version, and a "movie". This really tells the Story. The Aucas simply accepted God's love through His Son Jesus Christ, and they realized after all was said and told, through the years of trying to communicate and live a life of example and sacrafice, that the five men that died did so willingly so that they could learn how to live eternally. And look what has happened after fifty years! The killing stopped, and you can see it in this film, the joy of understanding Love. I am so glad that this story is finally being told to yet another generation...

This movie surprised me. Though it's about Christian martyrdom, it's amazingly light. I couldn't get over how much fun the missionaries seemed to be having with the Aucas during their first meeting on the beach. The interviews are really crisp... and what pathos! I was also pleasantly surprised to find the movie void of Christian cliches, revealing instead an authenic and truly winsome faith.

For all those who love the journals of Jim Elliot, this is a must see. It gives footage of his life as well as the four other men who were killed along with him. In this documentary the children, and wives of the men are interviewed as well as some of the Indians. It's a very moving story.

I saw a preview screening in my church the day before it was released. We were blessed to have a guest come she was one of the children who flew with the pilot back and forth to other bush missionaries houses and schools. This was a great movie about an important part of history especially Christian Missionary History. Was well balanced with an unflinching look at what was done wrong and what was done correctly. This movie was very Heavy Handed about the final outcome being what GOD wanted but it should have been because that is what finally happened. There was some great scenes of some tribe members visiting the US that were simply priceless. All in all a rewarding experience I am trying to buy me a copy of it to loan to others.

I didn't watch this movie for the religious/missionary aspect of it, but I liked it. Very interesting. Worth watching.

This brought back a lot of memories from my very young childhood, being brought up in a missionary religion, and it touched me. However as an informative movie concerning either side of the cultural peoples, or how they really interacted, it was a bit lacking. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and could read between the lines. Loved it and want to send a copy to my parents who can appreciate it even more. Reminds me of "At Play in the Fields of the Lord", an excellent movie about a similar true situation in the Amazon with an all star cast that never hit the big screen. Check it out. Hard to find but worth it.

I didn't get much out of this film. It appears to be by missionaries for missionaries. I was hoping to really learn something about the indigenous people.

My fault. I need to make sure I read the entire synopsis. I was expecting a movie about this event, not a Discovery Channel program.
