The costumes were beautiful, the scenery, countryside.. were beautiful, but how long can we watch Marie and her friends run around, drink, eat, gamble and read in the meadow? (BORING) Then suddenly all of Paris is storming the castle and then the family is lead away and the screen fades to black as she says goodbye to her life? Kirsten Dunst is either a bad actress... or she just doesn't seem to pick rolls that are at her level. I tend to expect very little out of her, but was actually impressed in this film. The end was disappointing and completely anticlimactic but I will watch it again because it is fun for me, as a girl, to wrap my brain around the abounding opulence this girl was dropped into.
