Incredibly slow storyline. I found myself fast forwarding through ten minute scenes of her just walking or eating cake. I really wanted to see some plot development, but there was barely any. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Read MoreIt was definitely eye candy, and I didn't mind the modern music. I just assumed from the get-go it was going to be Moulin Rouge-like with the updated soundtrack, and that was ok. Dunst was a lot better than I expected. She carried the role well and made you get a real sense of the joie de vivre of Marie. My only real annoyance was that they didn't dare to go all the way and left the movie with no explanation or even mention of her tragic end. I thought avoiding her death was kind of cowardly. Slow...slow.... slow. Beautifully photographed and stage. Sets, scenery and costumes (and hair!) were awesome but it just went on and on.... WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
