If they are going to show it, make it easier to follow and hear what's being said. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

If the cannes audience hated it I can definetely see why. It felt like the movie was trying too hard to be significant to today's audience. I think there are subtler ways that this can be achieved. The movie turned out to be oversimplified fluff. If you're a teenage girl who's into boybands and glitter, then this is the kind of air popped movie that you'll probably love. This is a period drama not a rock concert. Trying too hard to be like "A Knight's Tale" but the script didn't live up to it. Disappointing ending - I was looking forward to a beheading but left "hanging". Ha! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The content of the movie was amazingly researched and reenacted tremendously. The art, politics, lifestyle, and overall feel of this movie certainly transports you to European monarchy life during Marie Antoinette's days, and the era of the French Revolution.
However, aside from the lovely dresses, scenery, and aristocracy involved, the movie is about as exciting as reading these events from a highschool Eurpoean History textbook.
The only amazing redeeming quality of this movie is the fantastic soundtrack.
My recommendataion is to skip the movie, and use your admission ticket price to buy the soundtrack, overall much more enjoyable. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
