An absolute stunner for the talents of Jack Nicholson and who doesn't love to hate Nurse Fletcher!

Read More There are many messages in this movie. Given the time setting, I think the institution did many things correctly, and many things could have been done better. when Jack Nicholson's character came in and shook things up and people were laughing more, etc., its easy to judge that 'they - the instituion' was wrong, but there were a lot more fights and upsets then, too. Very thought provoking Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Blockbuster's policy of splitting up special edition dvd sets prevents me from commenting on the special features AS a set... this review concerns only disc one. The film itself would get a five-star rating from me, but the only "features" on disc one were w/s, language, subtitles, and several pages of text-only cast and crew notes. This was disappointing, but I still got to enjoy the movie, uncut and in widescreen.
One of the producers of this classic film, when setting out to make it, said that it should first of all be very real, secondly be interesting, and then be comedic. The interest and critical discussion that still surrounds it thirty years later supports this description. Some of the finest acting ever filmed.
I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the "bonus" disc! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I don't know when the itching started, but you might want to ask the bubble gum what it knows. I know it knows but I don't know WHAT it knows. You know? I snort the bunny nose. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
