In this madcap comedy, Demi Moore plays Cassandra and John Cusack is Hoops McCann, two people who eventually fall in love and help each other out. Hoops is a cartoonist working on a teen love story that he hopes will get him accepted into art school. Cassandra is a troubled young woman about to lose her home to a money-hungry developer. Characters with names like Squid Calamari, Clay Stork, or Ack Ack Raymond are involved in the unfolding romance and figure in several slapstick routines. Savage Steve Holland released two great movies in the 80's "Better Off dead" and "One Crazy Summer" Both are timeless and very funny. Bobact Goldthwait in the Godzilla costume is priceless, Cusack delivers as usual, Armstrong is as funny as Ack Ack and Demi Moore make this film great. Armstrong and Cusack were both in Better Off Dead, pretty much more of the same humor here. Watch this film and laugh. Then throw Better Off Dead in the queue. You won't be sorry!

not sure I could call it "madcap" but it was fun to see John Cusack so young! It was a bit too reminiscent of "Better Off Dead" and certainly way too naive for modern viewers. Certainly glad Demi didn't choose to try a singing career!!!
