I enjoyed the movie. It felt like the old musical. The outtakes look like they had fun making it. Nathan Lane was the main reason I enjoyed it and I feel he make the show worth watching.

Some reviewers have no sense of humor. This movie was absolutely hysterical, but you have to like Brooks' trademark tasteless comedy. The musical numbers added to the story line (beyond those in the musical-within-the-musical, which were always there) work very well, both as an homage to Golden Age Hollywood musicals, but also to advance the story, and Lane and Broderick perform them flawlessly (as they should, having done them forever on Broadway). The highlight of the movie is of course "Springtime For Hitler" itself, which was shot almost identically to the original (and even included Brooks' famous cameo), and close behind are the "Make It Gay" and "Flaunt It" scenes. Will Ferrell’s over-the-top style works perfectly in a Brooks script, and Uma Thurman, Gary Beach and Roger Bart all do well in their supporting roles. The one thing I missed was a counterpart to Dick Shawn’s LSD, with Beach doing a camp Hitler rather than a stoner one, which worked just as well though.

Why do some people not want to enjoy themselves and just follow along and have a good laugh. This is a movie of a play and the play was WONDERFUL. Mell Brooks is brilliant and this film is just plain and simple enjoyable entertainment. The three leads are having as much fun as anyone, why not just ride along? This is music, comedy, satire, it's not heavy drama. Get over it and enjoy the show!!

This film is just plain, bad. First of all you don’t remake a perfect movie, it never works, and this film is proof positive. Fact of the matter is that you might not like anything about this dismal film. It doesn’t have the timing that the original had. , The acting leaves a lot to be desired. , And the movie is just a waste of what was a terrific storyline. Some professional reviewers have given this film high praise. I think and day of Electro Shock Therapy might be in order for those folks. What in the world did they see in this film, and I use the word film loosely when speaking of this mess. As for another viewer who gave us a litany of mass murderers, I think the big difference between Hitler’s campaign of killing is.that it was centered around one group of people, where the other nut balls just killed everyone who got in they’re way regardless of there religious beliefs.
