Excellent movie about the effects being held captive in a military prison has on the one who is captured and the family he comes back to. Michael, a major in the Danish army leaves his family to serve in Afghanistan. The movie centers on what a man will do to survive. The movie also centers on the people left behind and what happens when the captive comes home.

War changes the soldiers mind and spirit. They are not the same when they return as when they left. This movie shows the drama and violence that war creates.

Even though this movie is Danish and uses subtitles, it is easy to follow, and I believe it to be one great movie! If you are in the mood for drama, this movie will do the job.

An absolutely incredible film! The acting was outstanding, the plot gripping, and the characters very believable. It was a realistic film about the effects of being a prisoner of war and what one will do to survive. I also felt the film portrayed Jannick's alcoholism in a realistic way. He was human enough so that you could feel sympathy for him, but drunk enough so that you just wanted to knock some sense into him. If you don't mind subtitles (which I don't), rent this film -- it's definitely worth "reading!"

We loved this movie. The characters were very believable. We thought we had the plot line all figgered out at the beginning and then we got fooled. This is definitely worth a watch.

They may talk for 10 minutes and then throw in a subtitled sentence which is not even a complete sentence so you have no clue as to why they do certain things. Nothing fantastic about this movie

More people should watch this film. Perhaps their understanding about the returning veteran will be softened and their opinion about our involvement in the war in Iraq & Afghanistan will be changed. As for the subtitles, being able to read and read quickly and think helps!

Nowhere did I see that this movie was subtitled.

Why aren't the movies clearly labeled with the language they are in? This one was not and the sparse subtitles made it unwatchable. Waste of time.
