Read MoreAfter reading the overwhelming amount of bad reviews here, I watched it and was very happy. Plenty of gore, coherent plot/story (contrary to many posters) above average acting, a few "make you jump" scares and most surprising a happy ending.
It was pretty much exactly what I had hoped for from George Romero and a relatively big budget. Maybe I am just not as "harcore" as some of the other reviewers. I mean, I loved all Romero's other movies, I enjoyed the "revisioning" of Dawn of the Dead, and Shaun of the Dead was a lot of fun. I don't know, maybe I am crazy but I really loved it!

Personally, I suspect that studio tampering and/or the lure of a big budget are what caused this dumbing down, especially after Romero's comments on the Dawn of the Dead commentary. However, this movie just missed the mark. I really liked Dawn of the Dead, but this one just didn't quite cut it.
