The good news is that the DVD is dubbed in English. But watch the subtitles too, since they don't always say the same thing, and one may be funnier than the other.

If you would like to see a Western equivalent, check out "The Villian", with Kirk Douglas, Arnold Schwartzeneger and Ann Margrett.

Therefore, as any ... Read MoreI haven't yet seen my wife's eyes roll the way they did when I announced I rented Kung Fu Hustle. I don't blame her; it's not her thing, just like "The Notebook" was not my thing. Therefore, as any loving spouse would do, I watched it when she was out of town. My only regret? I KNOW she would have liked it. I'll get over it, don't worry. While "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" has crossover appeal to teary-eyed made-for-TV-drama viewers, "Kung Fu Hustle" draws in the balance of non-Kung-Fu viewers. While they may not adopt this genre of movie, they will appreciate the chance to spend time with their Kung Fu-loving significant others without all the eye-rolling. Kung Fu Hustle does this with "Roadrunner" humor that does not detract from the action scenes of the movie...Somehow. I think this absurdity infused throughout keeps you interested. But this may not be enough for all, and if such is your significant other, your only chance may be "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

At first I thought I made a mistake, seems like a reeeaaal cheesy asian flick. But once I got past the first part I realized how unique and fun the movie was. Sorta like Roger Rabbit meets Limoney Snickett's and a Series of Unfortunate Events. Whoever wrote the story and/or did the cinematography was definitely smoking something. A wild & crazy, cheshire cat smokin ganja on a mushroom, scooby doo where are you, slapstick kung-foo rollercoaster ride. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
