I have been in the film industry for a while and I feel this was done extremely well... I dont think this movie was so much about what guns do to people but what people do with guns... We all no we have rights to guns in this country but does every maniac have the right to aquire guns legaly no they dont... I feel this movie was filled with emotion and showed the audience that its not just the people in the ghetto that shot people randomly and with out and emotion... we need to recognize their is a serious epidemic in this country of ignorance and lack of heart and feelings... People are dieing everyday people yet we are so consumed with work kids t.v. that we dont even so the destruction in our own citys and our country... I hope if anything this movie will spark thought in the minds of all... TO WAKE UP Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Marsha Gay Harden was awesome, I can see why she won an Independent Film Spirit Award for her performance. I was disappointed with Forrest Whitaker though, he is usually so much better. They could have spent more time exploring a couple of the characters (Tony Goldwyn for example) and left out a couple of others, but I would recommend this movie. It gives you something to think about, but it never delves deep into the topic. There is so much potential with perhaps the most interesting premise for a character; the mother of school shooter. But the writing is unimpressive and the performance is uninspired. Characters react in the most cruelest unrealistic way just to drive home the point the movie tries desperately to make. The ending is quite possible the biggest cop out I've ever seen in a movie. What a waste of really good premise. At least it gives you something to think about. Read More Yet ANOTHER film that makes it seem like all Americans are victims of gun crimes and their aftermath when the facts are that most will never come close to this. Never is the fact mentioned in this film that all of the gun crimes are from ILLEGALLY owned guns. That aside; the film just drifts forever without end. I was so bored, I turned it off and then watched the rest the next day. It just ends abruptly. Watch Elephant instead if this interests you. Just for once I wish Hollywood would tell the truth instead of predictable propaganda. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
