Read More If you enjoyed Saturday Night Lights, or Remember the Titans, you will like Glory Road. The theme is the same (black athletes striving for greatness in a world not necessarily ready to embrace them), but the acting and the message are clear. I loved the DVD extras that included Pat Riley giving his thoughts on playing the historic game that changed the face of college basketball. I feel that because people are reluctant and sensitive to the topic of race relations, there will be some reluctance to the movie. But I would recommend it to everyone, even my 5 year old. There can never be another "Hoosiers". This movie tell a story of a significant moment in sports history and the individuals that sacrificed their well lives possibly to pave the way for other black athletes. I am sure that was not their intentions at the time, they only wanted the opportunity to play big time basketball and the coach needed players. It just turn out that marriage made history. So when you begin watching the movie, get Hoosiers and Remember the Titans out of your head and put yourself in the coaches and players shoes. Then ask yourself could I go through something like that and still perform at a high level. It is a very good movie, but it is a great movie, if you are young, black and love the game. Some of the effects were put in to entertain along with the message. I am not sure what movie Twila S. and Nicholas P. were watching. Thanks Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

A true story about the beginings of racial segregation and integration in the sport of basketball in the South and West. Very interesting to look back and realize how it was back then and where it is now. DON'T MISS THE CREDITS AT THE END WHERE IT GIVES INFO REGARDING THE COACH AND THE PLAYERS!! I ordered the movie, so my husband didn't know who it was about. Since we were in high school during the same period as the movie, we remembered the times all too well. And my husband was very familiar with the coach's career. We thoroughly enjoyed the pace, the acting and the subject matter (we're both sports fans). Love it when we can find a good movie that is not gross from gratuitous language, sex and violence. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
