The plot is excellent and the director added superb realism throughout the entire movie. I was pleasantly surprised at how well DiCaprio was able to play such an aggressive character. The lineup of actors in this movie is incredible and every one of them played their roles perfectly. This is an absolute must see...they don't make movies like this one anymore!! This movie was good. I loved the Irish approach instead of the rehashed Italian movies of the genre. This movie did leave me with a lot of questions. There were so many loose ends! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I just don't see why it's so highly acclaimed since it will not stand out as being memorable in my mind. I guess if you're a big fan of mobster/police drama movies it delivers, but there are many people who do like these types of movies and don't mind if it's so similar and non-memorable. But it didn't bother me to not see what happened because the movie simply didn't flow well and the plot was way out there. Definitely a movie for the simple minded loser!
