Probably because it is very French in film style. Standard "straight" woman finds love in the arms of a lesbian fare, you've seen it before and done better (Desert Hearts, Late Bloomers). I really didn't understand the motivation of any of the characters except the husband. Not the best lesbian movie I've ever seen...but not a complete waste of time either. If you're looking for something with a slower pace this would fit the bill. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The dialogue lacks depth -even in French - the English subtitles were laughable. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Somewhat cliched plot- tall, well-coiffed attractive wife/mother/masseuse is bored with husband and clicks with short, attractive, bad-hair-day, single female dancer. Much anguish, mainly by the wife/mother, over the consequences of vacating the marriage and following her heart. However, in the end, uncharacteristic of this trope, she makes a clear break with her past and doesn't look back. Not much sex, but these two chicks do get a LOT out of a kiss. Read More This film does a good job in showing just how boring Jeanne's life is. So much so, that it bored me.Lol.At the beggining you see them being close right when they met each other. They meet at a party, Jeanne is in awe of Marie. For Jeanne was a dancer but got stuck in a family. So we have the lesbian cliches.Girls realizing that they're friendship has become more but she's married,so blah blah. Now what is she gonna do?Oh and when they're taking dance classes, those moves are just stupid and uncomfortable to watch. They really needed a choreagrapher. It's not all bad. The actresses compliment each other and have some chemistry. The sexual tension between them is good.It obviously kept me watching. That and i'm a sucker for french accents. So watch it if you really have no lesbian movies to watch. Read More After I waited for many weeks to receive the film in the mail because of the wait list, I expected it to be exceptionally moving. I really wanted to care about these two women. The dancer vascillated between being very provacative and tender, to almost menacing looking. I truly felt for the mother's angst and enjoyed that they won their own battle in the end; yet, this is no Desert Hearts. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More The dancing is great, and even just the way the women move when they are together is nice. But there's this heaviness...a little grief, a little brooding...I wanted to really like this movie - both women are beautiful, sexy, have interesting work. Even the hubby is handsome - and looks great with his shirt off :). And the kid's a cherub, just adorable. But, I didn't like the movie. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is a movie about two women who fall in love, it was not what I had expected. The two main characters interact in such a way, that it almost seems like live television. That is, they don't appear to be acting! The low budget, is only an enhancement to the performances, as there is no glitter to get in the way of some extraodinary emotional scenes, wait until you see her husbands reaction to his wifes admission of saphism or the reuniting of the two lovers at the conclusion, very powerfull stuff! Great Film-making! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
