Read More Battle Of Britain features a huge cast of British stars who obviously all wanted to have small parts in a big film about one of England's finest hours. In the summer and fall of 1940 Germany attempted to destroy the RAF prior to their planned sea invasion of Great Britain. Vastly outnumber the Brits handed gave Hitler his first military defeat. Millions of words have been written about this campaign and I should not try to cover it in a movie review. The film has a great score and the best aerial combat footage ever filmed. This type of movie will never be seen again. In today's movie making world everything is animated and faked. There is not a lot of character development in this picture. It was not that type of story. A couple of interesting companion films that I believe should be seen after watching this outstanding movie are an "r" rated soap opera called Dark Blue World about the Czech pilots who fought on the British side and the TV mini-series Piece Of Cake. The re-mastered print done in Blu-ray is the jaw dropper. If you have forgotten what the old brilliant Technicolor was like this will dazzle your eyes. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? It was very cool. Having seen it again for the first timer since 1969, I can honestly say.....pass it up. The movie is boring with characters/actors coming and going without purpose, the aerial fights are repetitive, and there really is no plot at all. For such an all star cast, it isn't even worth the rental. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
