I was raised Catholic, but even so this movie was entirely foreign to me and I didn't understand most of it. Maybe the sequel will be better.

I've seen this movie several times - horrible history, actually suggesting Rome was torn apart by mobs of violent Christians! and that the witch hunts of Medieval times were actually because the church inheritantly was trying to destroy women. (how much sense does that make?) Story strange and convoluted also. But there is one thing this movie had I loved - one of the most beautiful scores I've ever heard. I actually bought the soundtrack, something I rarely do. Good performances by Hanks and McKellan also, and if you love art, some glorious scenes of Paris, churches, and the Louvre.

I thought it good (not great) - enough holes to strain your spagetti through it - BUT entertaining none the less - Good performances by Hanks and McKellen.

One word can discribe this film ABYSMAL. The movie was boring and doesnt grip you like the book. poor acting, bad script. all in all this is an awful adaptation. Ron Howard bow your head in shame.

I love how there are some element's of truth in the store. as the wife of a free mason I enjoyed finding the little biths of truth that was hidden through out the movie that most people would never reconise. I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie and loved the surprize ending

disappointed in the adaptation to the screen. I understand that you can't capture the whole book in anything less than a mini series. But they watered it down as well to seemingly appease the christian protesters. It also seemed like they through it together without much thought for building suspense. if i hadn't read (Listened) to the book I'm not sure if I could have followed it very well.

The plot is farfetched, but the movie provides an revealing look into the history of Christianity that many Christians might find truly enlightening.
