I never would have rented this movie had my girlfirend not mentioned it randomly one night and said it was pretty good. Even with her saying that, I didn't have very high expectations when I popped this in. When it was over I basically shrugged my shoulders and said, "yea, pretty much what I figured". You had a handful of laughs, very stereotypical characters, a very cliche turning point of the movie and the "twist" was pretty stupid. If you're bored on a rainy day I could recommend about five hundred movies which are better then this, but if you just want a family movie that everyone is going to get a couple laughs about, you'll be okay watching this. Vin Diesel puts in a pretty decent acting performance given the role he had to work with. Brad Garrett was pretty horrible and way too over the top for anyone over the age of 12 to probably find funny.

I thought this movie was going to be dumb, but I was pleasantly surprised. I even sat down and watched it a second time with my wife which is really rare for me! It was entertaining and fun and good clean entertainment. Quite refreshing actually with all the trash out there!

This movie was not bad at all, in fact it was quite enjoyable! I couldn't see Vin in a Disney film, but he did pull it off and then some. If you want a nice family movie, this is it.
