Do you know where your children are? Do you know WHO they are? This is about how disconnected we've all become due mostly with our own self-absorbtion and our basic failure to communicate. This is dark and often comical and a more than a lil preachy - but entertaining enough you won't mind. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The performances are over the top, mostly because the script is over the top. The parents are all foolish and self-obsessed. The teenagers are a bit smarter, for the most part, but not much. Everyone is on pills to keep from feeling, keep from hurting, keep from being involved with each other. It's trite. It's bad guys are too bad to believe. it's good guys don't actually exist, although one of the characters, and another sort of, has a change of heart at the end. And two actors, I'll let you guess who one of them is, get to try out their awful, fake American accents. I would let you guess who they both are, but one deserves special mention. Ralf Fiennes uses a poor American accent in so many movies, it's a wonder he doesn't get a better language coach. Lots of talent wasted here. Amateurish script. One or two uncomfortable laughs in this painful, obvious and overall unsatisfying black comedy/dramedy. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More For its actors alone, THE CHUMSCRUBBER is a "don't miss." How in hell did director Arie Posen & co-writers Posen and Zac Stanford entice this amazing list: Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes, Allison Janney, Carrie Anne Moss, William Fichtner, Jason Issacs, Rita Wilson, Lauren Holly, John Heard and, in the ensemble lead, Billy Elliott's Jamie Bell? Take a look because--messy as it is & full of ups and downs, and although newcomers Posin and Stanford tackle a rather tired subject (angst in suburbia)--it's still a good watch. If it doesn't offer the depth & vision that mature filmmakers might bring, it has enough intelligence & surprise--& those great actors--to hold you for 100-odd minutes. As the story progresses, it seems to be heading in an apocalyptic direction, and I wish the moviemakers had gone ahead with this. Instead they opt for the sentimental & feel-good. This doesnt destroy things. But what might they have accomplished had they stuck to (what appears to be) their guns? Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I didn't like this movie because there is nothing funny about this movie, if anything it's senseless. This movie is about the school drug dealer committing suicide. 3 of the dealer's customers decide to kidnapped the drug dealer best friend's brother inorder to get the drug left behind. Instead of kidnapping the brother the three kidnap the sheriff's son. Before the trade the real brother(here's the senseless part) dumps the drugs in his mother's dish that she is preparing to take to the memorial for the kid who committed suicide. At the end it's reveal that the kid who committed suicide believed he could live forever like the headless horseman in a video game. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL?
