This film was one of the better films that I have seen as of late but I feel that they could have ended it sooner. The array of actors that they picked for this film was worth watching as they each gave the film and the family that they played the depth that the writers where looking for.

This is a very well made and tightly told tale about a father and his 2 sons living in a rural setting. How they came to be there and what ensues is a riveting portrayal of family dysfunctionality and redemption acted with incredible verity, especially from the 2 brothers, who are totally believable and sympathetic characters. This is a tense, violent film that leaves one a bit shocked and amazed at it all. Well worth a cinema buff's time just for the performances the kids give.

I love works including both of the main adult characters and for that reason alone I stuck it out to the end. But this movie was not worth the hour and 44 minutes. It is dark-with way too many unanswereds and no desire for a sequel to answer them. What was with the balloon popping at the end?

OK.. I'll admit, I haven't finished the movie yet... I'm only about halfway through... but upon reading the synopsis on this site, it seems as if I've already seen the whole movie (especially based on Michelle C's review also). Josh Lucas plays his character very well, but overall, I was expecting more after watching the trailer.

Improbable characters wrestle with improbable situations in an improbable setting. I didn't buy it.

This movie began with some potential and then fell flat on it's face. Painfully difficult to watch until the end. I gave it one star but I was just being nice.

What a stupid movie. I can't believe anybody actually watched the whole thing without fast forwarding. The ending was just plain ridiculous. What a cheesy and boring movie. Do Not Bother.
