Well written and directed by Turturro...the whole cast was excellent and gave top performances. There was only a handful of songs in the movie but they are funny and provide good pause. As of 2007, the DVD is only available in Europe, so I had to buy it from Amazon.co.uk. It only comes in PAL (Region 2) format, so you'll either have to convert it to NTSC(Region 1) or watch it on a computer with Windows Media Player. Hopefully they will release it in the US sometime soon. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Wild and crazy! It's not for everyone because it can be a bit raunchy and off-the-wall, and, despite all the laughs and music, the mood turns dark at the end. But overall, DELIGHTFUL! Snappy dialogue, great visuals, and the music just made the movie for me. The movie did take a serious turn at the end, but that only reinforced the message that actions have consequences and love hurts and betrayal hurts even more. This film was a departure for Turturro and the Coen influence was apparent. Great cast. Great collaborative effort. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Written and directed by John Turturro and produced by the Coen Brothers. That being said I expected something different and far and away from the mainsteam - wanted that. So as far as expectation goes that's all I expected. Was I ever surprised to find out that this is a musical! Not a few songs in the movie but a straight up very little talking - lots more singing musical. I was put back by that at first. I was in a little bit of shock and trying to wrap my mind around James Gandolfini jumping and leaping around in the street singing "A Man Without Love". Once I settled in and committed myself to this quirkly movie though I really really started to enjoy it. Mega cast that all delivers. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More As much as I like the Coen Brothers and most of John Turturro's roles, his writing and directing threw me for a loop on this one. I only made it about 15 minutes before I had to turn it off. I can make it all the way through most off-beat films (A Dirty Shame), but not this one. Great cast put into a VERY different kind of film! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
