great acting and directing. i can't believe "brokeback mountain" walked away with this movie's awards. hollywood sure knows how to promote and hype up their own agenda. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Very enjoyable movie. This is a great movie about country music legends. Great acting and great music. Joaquin and Reese capture Johnny and June so very well. I think they would be proud. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

How Phoenix did not take Best ACtor for this movie is beyond me. Witherspoon and Phoenix both will be taken VERY VERY VERY seriously as actors after this movie, and for good reason. Brilliantly written, tastefully edited, just perfect if you ask me. Above all, a very good movie which is really interesting. The movie is respectful of Cash, and I'm not even a huge fan of Johnny Cash. I was interested at all times and now likely will become a Cash fan (music) as a result of this movie. Phoenix gives one of the best performances I've ever seen in any movie from any actor, and I've seen 1000s of movies. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Read MoreMy parents were big fans of Johnny Cash so I grew up listening to his music. The only thing I wish they would have done is put in more of his accomplishments. The whole movie just seemed to focus on his drug/alcohol addition and his relationship with June Carter. I loved the movie, but I would have enjoyed scenes with him at music awards and just showing some other sides to him. But, maybe the point of this movie was to show the side we didn't see.
