Just because it is based on a video game isn't an excuse to make a bad ... Read More I am going to inlcude this film in my worst films of all time. The story was bad. The writting was bad. The acting was bad. Just because it is based on a video game isn't an excuse to make a bad movie. They had a decent budget to work with and had some decent actors sign on for this film. Why couldn't they atleast try to make this respectable? There are so many problems with this film I would use up my 1000 words listing them all. The tournament is a joke. Fighters seem to appear and disappear. I would have loved to have been in thescreening room when the producers, director, and writers watched the final cut. Someone should have stood up and said "What the hell did we just do?" I would be embarrassed to be associated with this project. Having everything in the film lead up to super sunglasses made me hit my head on my desk. That's just my angry opinion since I wasted prescious moments of my life to watch DOA. Read More I recommend you rent this dazzling action kicking butt movie.I never thought this was based on a game.But it threw me off how great it was.Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon meets Street Fighter.If you like those type of movies.Only a few actresses I know thats in it and you will know.The martial art skills were great it shows you how different they are now in 2007.The effects and graphics look real enough go ahead put in your queue list you won't regret it. Read More Why didn't this movie, which obviously cost a few duckets in CGI alone, get any kind of distribution? Simple, it's a watered down (read: tamer) version of the video game, down to the 2 dimensional characters and useless dialogue. Who wants to see that? Answer, anyone who likes hot girls wielding katanas. If the producers had bothered to either be more faithful to the game itself (coulda been hotter) or to parody the game (better still, parody the sub-genre of movies based on games) with a much smarter script (you HAD the talent to do it!), this could've been a classic.
