The acting was amazing, but the characters were not developed and the plot went nowhere.

The film is disjointed stories of everyday people. I love the awkward moments of interaction between characters that make the movie as much a comedy as it is a drama. There are scenes between the psychiatrist and the businessman that are hilarious. Every story will suck you in. It does take a bit of patience at first. At times Danny Leiner will show but a minute thirty of one of the stories and switch to the other. He's very smart about the shots, but it slows the movie down. I know that the year after 9/11 setting was supposed to be significant, but I enjoyed it because of the characters. I found the message of the movie to be that life goes on.

I thought that overall this movie left something to be desired. The movie is described as showing how people are living post-9/11; however, at no point does it show this in the movie other than dates leading up to it over a span of about a week. I liked the cast and the characters, but at the end I just felt kind of blah.

There are plenty of good films in this vein that do a much better job. I felt as though I was reading stories from different, unrelated collections of essays. The acting went from inspired in a few places to mainly uninterested. A pretty sad result.
