They do go a bit far with sexual situations though... There is one part of the movie that is pretty bad with Colin Firth all over the woman in what is supposed to be humorous as he is really doing something else but she takes it as sexual and seriously wants him. I have a problem with that being in a movie labeled as PG and feel it should be PG-13. The sexual nature of the scenes adds nothing to the movie at all and actually takes away from it and my child was totally not amused.... (neither of us were expecting it).

Read MoreThis movie exudes tolerance and understanding. In the beginning the children were terrible but there was a reason. Nannie McPhee's appearance needs "tolerance" at first. She taught the children manners and good life lessons. The movie even showed how class discrimination could keep couples apart but was overcome and the movie had a happy ending. likable, but more for older kids and adults. My 3 & 6 year old went from bored to scared to bored ( to rather go to bed than finish watching). WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Every child is different so who can predict what is right for your child...just as adults have their favorites, but I think it was a cute story to be enjoyed, not taken so seriously. Read MoreI don't normally go in for kids' movies, but I adore Emma Thompson, so I took a chance. So glad I did! Right, this is not a movie for the very young, but for kids over, say...age 8 or 9...and the people who can't stand them. ;o) Or, maybe I'm simply more like Nanny McPhee than I know, and deep down inside, I enjoy watching excellent child-actors.

The nanny was kinda scary to me. I like the magic she does though. There was some scenese that wasn't suitable to kids like the spider scene. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
