I would recommend watching the deleted scenes before you watch the movie, since most of them come at the beginning anyway. My only other comment would be that the movie and DVD would have been greatly enhanced by the inclusions of the deleted scenes. Thank goodness they have been perserved on the DVD. Flaws = really really bad CGI (especially for 2004), kinda overdone - stuff added that didn't need to be. You can read the book faster than watch the movie.
