good movie with a great message-thought the language could have been cleaned up a bit, but understand the neighborhood that the movie was set in - would definitely recommend for teenagers and over

Samuel Jackson fits the role perfectly and gives one of his best performences! The basketball kids are ok, but the movie was at a slow pace and it seemed about twenty minutes to long.

I truly appreciated this movie for Coach Carters "Tough Love" approach on his team. He set out to make a point and he came through. I found it outrageous that the parents cared more about basketball than their childrens grades and could not believe the fits they threw as adults when he locked the gym. He definitely did what needed to be done. Not only did the kids need to be taught a lesson, but so did their parents.

Move over Hickory, here comes Richmond. (Ok I gotta admit, a pretty corny opening line) It was definitely a better movie then I expected. As a movie I think it could have been much better but the message gets across loud and clear. I would have liked it if they did it in the actualy period that it happened. I hated the "next Lebron James" line at the beginning but other then that it was a good movie. It took me back to my days of Varsity basketball instantly...that was only 5 years ago but still it took me back...What is your deepest fear?

The movie took the typical sports cliche route of they win some games, things get bad they lose games, things get good they win some more. It had the typical bad boys on the team good boys and then this one chinese kid that is in many seens but never plays and doesn't say a word. Samuel L. Jackson is OK but not another "A time to Kill" Performance. Ok plot ok direction. Bottomline nothing to write home about. If you got a night to kill it's tolerable.
