good movie with a great message-thought the language could have been cleaned up a bit, but understand the neighborhood that the movie was set in - would definitely recommend for teenagers and over WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Samuel Jackson fits the role perfectly and gives one of his best performences! The basketball kids are ok, but the movie was at a slow pace and it seemed about twenty minutes to long. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I found it outrageous that the parents cared more about basketball than their childrens grades and could not believe the fits they threw as adults when he locked the gym.

As a movie I think it could have been much better but the message gets across loud and clear. I would have liked it if they did it in the actualy period that it happened. I hated the "next Lebron James" line at the beginning but other then that it was a good movie. It had the typical bad boys on the team good boys and then this one chinese kid that is in many seens but never plays and doesn't say a word. Samuel L. Jackson is OK but not another "A time to Kill" Performance. Ok plot ok direction.
