This movie teaches a wonderful lesson not only to the youths of today, but has a message so many of us want to tell our public school systems. A great lesson also of standing up for what is right even under perseccution. There are several curse words and scenes focusing on teenage pregnancy that you will want to discuss with your children. Hopefully, there are more Coach Carters out there.

Coach Carter is a story about a coach who bench's the whole team because they turned in poor academic grades, and they all signed a contract saying that they would keep there score at 2.3 or C+. Everybody hated this idea, but you will see how it change them. You should see the special features to see the real Coach Carter, since this is his story.

In the beginning, it had the feel of the cheesy, feel-good films like "Dangerous Minds" or "Sister Act II". Then as it progresses it becomes a very compelling story that sucks you in and won't let you go. Samuel L Jackson was his usual wonderful self and makes you feel the anguish and the frustration that Coach Carter is going through. Each player has a choice and fortunately they could have gone a different path than they took. Fortunately Ken Carter had a huge impact on them. I would buy this one and watch it over and over again.

Great performances - never too glossed over but a real true and inspiring story of one man's way to bring not only a team to a winning season, but young men to a winning life. What is nice about seeing these "based on" biographical films at home, is the special features where in this case it was nice to listen to the real coach Carter talk, see his family, his son and meet some of the real players that were depicted in this movie. Totally enjoyed.
