The director's choices gave me no feeling of attachment to the wonderful characters. There was so much infighting Queen Latifah looked like a referee. The male supporting character was billed as "gay," he wasn't. The director needed less blind alley's and more focus on story.
The rising action felt like a lead balloon. I loved the choices for talent and felt like crying when I saw a total failure to use their amazing skills. How can you have a posse full of names like Queen Latifah, Alicia Silversteen, Alfre Woodard, Andie MacDowell, and Kevin Bacon and end up with such a disappointing final product.
I have a final comment; whoever edited this movie . . . fire them! Whoever directed this movie . . . fire them! What were you thinking? This could have been great, but it was a total fizzle. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I would've added a bit more conflict into the story, but that's OK. I think Queen Latifah is truly the Queen of movie-making. She's always on the money with each movie, and the rest of the cast was very well-suited. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It was funny, cute, sad, everything. Loved Alicia Silverstone! I've loved her since Clueless and it was so great to see her on the big screen doing a 180 in regards to her acting. Can't wait to see her again. Loved Queen Latifah, truly a beautiful person. Must watch movie. Hey, even my husband liked it, though he won't admit it, even through all that laughing.
