Read More A film that could be hard for some to watch, portrays a teen coping with a sexual assault. Fear and shame force her to keep the secret, dealing with it on her own, unable to seek support from friends, family or authorities. The unvoiced pain she feels drives a wedge between her and friends/family. Over a year, a new teacher and other life events help her to recognize her trauma, find strength and deal with her attacker. The dialog is quietly understated; the photography, casting and set well chosen. The overall story was very well told, largely carried on the presentation of Kristen Stewart. I loved the final scene, when she finally becomes animated, able to speak again. I applaud Director Sharzer's work in bringing this work to the screen. Well done. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Very good - a truthful and very insightful look into what causes this girl to stop talking, and eventually find her way to "speak". Steve Zahn stands out in this.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More The story centers around the aftermath of a teenage girl who was date raped. It was very sad to see not only the main character's isolation but how none of the adults in her family or school stepped up to the plate to help this girl when it was so obvious that she was in terrible emotional distress. A good character study movie and one that I think teenagers, in particular, can relate to. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I initially started watching it and turned it off after 1/2 hour because I thought it was slow. A few days later when I was feeling more mellow, I put it back in the DVD and watched it. The movie is very good. It is moving with a lot of feeling and is thought provoking. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It came along with a very good message to young girls. I'm sure what happened in this movie happens one to many times to unsuspecting girls. It happens when you least expect it. Believe me I know. Great work Jessica Stewart. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The review says that she refuses to utter a word, ever since a party to celebrate the end of 8th grade..... This is a lie also......... she speaks several times throughout the movie after the party.
