Whether you're gay, straight, whatever...who cares?! You should watch this movie. It is difficult to deny that this is a well crafted story. Love that transcends stereotypes about faith, family, and community has a universal appeal. In this case, well told with gay characters struggling (realistically and painfully) to find a safe place to be themselves- to be in love. In my opinon, we should all be surrounded at the dinner table by a "family" that loves us unconditionally.

This is one of the best gay movies I have ever seen. Being an ex-Mormon (my Dad was a convert when I was younger) I can totally relate to the main character who has to deal with his family and his own true self. Much of what is depicted actually occurs in the Mormon church. Trust me, those people may look friendly and nice, but they are pure evil if you don't match up to their beliefs. So much for Christian values!

I truly didn't expect much from this movie because most gay movies I've seen haven't been very good but this movie is a wonderful exception!!! Great acting, great storyline with some different twists to it. I found it interesting that the writer wrote the screenplay when he reread his journals from when he first come to L.A. as a LDS missionary. Note to religious zealots-Watch only if you can put your religious prejudices aside and view it with an open mind and heart.

I'm straight and I still got a LOT out of this movie!!! Wes Ramsey is gorgeous and portrays a very gay and likeable character. Those who choose to quote verses to degrade the plot (hense the first review posted for this movie) should not watch movies with gay chracters in the first place. That is why they post summaries, right? I thought the director did a wonderful job presenting a difficult movie theme that would apeal to anyone with an open mind. It's worth checking out!

BEST GAY MOVIE I have ever seen - by far! Shows exactly the effects that RELIGIOUS BRAIN-WASHING have on INNOCENT VICTIMS in the United States! While everyone is focused on the fanatics in the Middle East right now - this movie shows that we have exactly the same problem right here IN THIS COUNTRY! This is an AWESOME MOVIE - A MUST SEE! It is extremely well done!

I thought the storyline, though kind of predictable, was nice. Something didn't flow right or realistically though, I'm not sure if it was the acting or direction, maybe a combination, but the character development seemed off. By the end of the movie it seemed to flow more genuinely, but I'm not sure if that's because it actually did or if I just sympathized with the characters for what I'd seen them go through. They tried to weave some deeper themes through the movie like the point of life and "coincidences", which I apprecaited, but I just think it was awkward or too plotted, like we didn't see the characters evolve, we saw them saying "I'm evolving."

I was raised in the Mormon church and went to BYU for 1 year during the 1970's. This is a must see movie for everyone, whether you're Mormon, a parent, or of some other religion that does not tolerate gays. It shows us that being gay is not a choice that someone makes, it is the way they are born, whether it be the way someone is wired or their chemical makeup. Would we do water torture on someone just because they were born with green eyes? Families are being torn apart because of the intolerance and the hatred generated from this intolerance. This is an excellent movie to promote tolerance and love for all. I highly recommend seeing it.

All I can say is what the crap is wrong with people in this country when we have to shove the gay issue every where. Nice touch on putting it in the LDS church though he dosent hate mormans at all dose he. Ive personally never seen this movie and never will.
