If you are looking for serious acting, or a strong plot, forget it. Just a below-average group of American kids, living life somewhere in Idaho. Read More Funny how everyone said "this is not a great movie - but it is a GOOD movie"...but they all remembered it - liked it enough to recommend it. Yes, I have to say the same thing. I see by some other reviews here - many were SO uncomfortable with what they might have seen of themself in this film - that they didn't like it and called it a bad movie. Shame they missed the point. Here's a guy that's a mega misfit - a true square peg in a round world. Perhaps we are not all such a lone soul as Napoleon is in this film - as in his case it was to extreme - but I think all of us can remember moments or day when we felt a little like he did - misunderstood and unappreciated..his frustration did not come from any insecurities as he knew he had self worth...his frustration came from the fact that other people did not seem to recognize that. In the end the recognition comes through as he uses his talents - not to make himself shine - but to help a friend. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

My best friend was quirky who lived with his grandma. When I got a bike, my friend really did ask me about "sweet" jumps. When I saw that line in the trailer, I knew I had to see the movie, and I loved it. It is true that it is not a true Hollywood comedy, but if you don't get this movie, then I know exactly what kind of movies and music you like, and unfortunately, I know you have little taste except for being a yes-person to the advertisers. Expand your mind, enjoy the movie for what it is, not what you want it to be, and you will easily give it five stars, It does not have profanity, sexual situations or adult language and situtations, so I don't know why Blockbuster added that. All my friends loved it though. Then they told me, "you have to watch it a second time to really find it funny." My response was, "Why would I waste two hours of my life....again?!" Odds are you'll like it unless you're like me....then you will hate it. It can be funny and did have some funny scenes....but it just didn't hold my interest.
