Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda: Season 01 (2000) Reviews

Blockbuster has a very hard time organzing there series. They are also very bad about sending discs out of order. I ran into the same problem with Farscape. This is a good series, especially if you are a sci-fic buff.

The Andromeda series is simply great SciFi. There are only 7 main characters, and they don't seem very special at first, but with each episode a little more about each character is revealed. I was hooked from the very first episode, but if you are not hooked right away just give it another episode or two and you probably will be. The alien races and storyline of each episode are very original and well thought out. The acting of every main character is top notch, and you really begin to feel an affection for each of them. If you really like the first few episodes I recommend that you buy the Andromeda SlipStream Edition. It contains all 5 seasons on 50 DVDs (2 DVDs to a slimpack). It is available at some outlets for around $100 and well worth the investment. IMHO it is as good as Star Trek NG, maybe better.

I loved the Hercules series and was tickled when his last series was referred to as "He looks like a Greek God" I watched the series on television but could never see it in succession. Kevin Sorbo is very sexy in this out of this world adventure. I would love being stuck in a black hole with him any day! Yes the first disc was way too short, and I am hoping that the discs are shipped out expediciously but hey we're talking about KEVIN SORBO!

I am disappointed renting Andromeda...and the title is very misleading. Although its probably written by Gene Roddenberry, his name is used to advertise this series but its really very average and nothing near the other stuff from Gene Roddenberry... :(
