Read Morea smart story. a fantastic script. few laughs, but when they come... they are right on the money and hit hard!!! the bothersome thing about this film is that it will turn into a cult film and fresh out of college boozers are going to terrorize wine country as a result of this film's wild week of wineries and golfing. too bad! otherwise, i will say this is a must rent. The entire premise of the movie was just sad and pathetic! I gave it 4 stars after the theatre and moving it down to 3 after the watching the 2nd time. Once was enough!!! Read MoreThis movie never really seemed to switch gears. I thought Giamatti's character was pretty good but could've been written better. The same goes for Church's character. This movie had a lot of potential as far as dialogue is concerned but it never really gets going. I can understand the charatcer of miles and knew someone like Jack. I do feel that this movie was great in the fact that the characters did not seem all that made up aside from the possible Maya wine guru, which did seem a bit contrived. The story was dull and hardly very funny unless you like watching a snobish, manic bad drunk and a failed actor cruising the local talent on their vacation. overall the movie was relativly tedious.
