Read MoreI gave this movie four stars because it is well-acted and scripted, and because it provides excellent insight into the life of someone who has chronic depression. It definitely wasn't funny. If anything, it is a tragicomedy. I couldn't believe that Jack could be as stupid as he is in the film, but his nearly unwavering optimistic support of Miles makes up for it. I don't really see that either man learned anything from their misadventures, however. The only redemption is that Maya calls Miles back, and there is hope for them. But you just know that Jack is going to screw up his relationship with his new bride--literally. Worth it for the dialogue, the scenery, and the friendship bond between the two men. We rented it this week. We watched it for 20 mins and it never got interesting. It dragged so slow, we finally turned it off after 22 mins. My mother was right....not worth the time or money. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Sideways I mean.... it is a bitter sweet comedy with a bit more bitter than comedy.
