Classics like these are wonderful, pure, good times wrapped up into a couple hour bundle of joy. Great acting, plot, and character development.

This is a fantastic movie--written and produced in 1939, but still as poignient in 2007. All persons interested in government should be required to watch this before recieveing office.

The current situation with Barack Obama's Senate Seat is the exact case that opens the door for Mr. Smith (Jimmy Stewart) to be appointed to the U.S. Senate. And the movie depiction of the corrupt corporate/media power structure is exactly the case today in 2009. How come our kids aren't required to watch this in Civics classes? Oh, sorry, I remember now, there are no Civics classes anymore. Watch the movie, avoid the mistakes of the past.

This is a good movie to watch to see a citizen Senator pass a good idea through the Senate in spite of the politics.

I love this movie. I always love Jimmy Stewart and to see him in a Frank Capra film (along with a lot of the rest of the cast of It's a Wonderful Life) was awesome. Who doesn't love Jefferson Smith?
