Well, I can't imagine that this movie made a dime in the theaters, and the only reason it would make money was unsuspecting people such as myself watched it for the same reason I did. And if this movie made any money, it went to pay all of the staring actors and actresses who star in it.
This movie was sooooo boring, and so slow. I was waiting for SOMETHING to happen. And when anything happened it was so lame.
If you have sleeping disorders or if you feel like taking a nap rent this one. Just don't waste your time with this one. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This movie is terrible! I read that this was a modernized version of the 1974 film Chinatown, and despite all its horrible reviews I still wanted to see it. Itâs like John Sayles couldnât decide if this should be a dark, film noir thriller (which it is not) or a comedic spoof of George W. Bush (which it is not.) So instead it becomes more of a ScoobyDoo episode, predictable and childish. There are too many characters and you donât care about any of them. There are, however, four people you wish would be fired for making this abomination: the director, the screenwriter, and the casting director. And poor Danny Huston, who is a great actor, but my goodness. I think he only did this film as a tribute to his father who starred in the original. He should be fired out of sheer mercy. Read More Silver City's heart is in the right place and its politics are unimpeachable -- the fact that conservative viewers are surprised about the stance of a John Sayles film underscores their complete ignorance of, well, everything. That said, this film is paced slower than molasses dripping down a cold plate, and its ending is unsatisfying and depressing. It's one thing to rail against the system; it's another to leave your political soulmates feeling hopeless. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It portrays the main character as a shallow flunky driven into his office by family money and influence, all the while an underlying tone of scandal from his past is floating all around. From Bush money and influence to Clinton land deals and dead bodies this film attacks everyone. Trying to throw Bill Clinton and George Bush into a "Potpourri" and creating one entity. What this boils down to is some screen writers disenchantment with the U.S. Government, and all political parties in general.
Some of the best actors in Hollywood were in this movie......giving some of the worst performances of their lives. At times you think they are acting badly on purpose.
There is a reason this movie did not last at the box office.....because it is just bad.
