I have no idea why all the media and commercials promoting this film claim it was the "best bond ever." It certainly was not - in fact, it didn't even hold a candle to a single Pierce Brosnan film - not one. The movie was disjointed, hard to understand, and simply average. I left the theater absolutely disappointed and let down due to the hype...if you watch this movie expecting the greatest Bond movie ever, you'll soon realize the only reason they call it the best ever was because Daniel Craig needed a success for his first outing. Monetarily it was a success - everything else about it sucked.

I really enjoyed this movie. Totally different Bond. I wanted to watch it all over again once it concluded. :-)

Im still not sure if I am sold on Craig as the next Bond. The movie is a pretty typical Bond film. The chase scenes are pretty good. Its a bit long though. It felt like they could have cut out a bit.

Casino Royale is by far the BEST ACTION FILM of 2006. Not pirates, not X-Men, not Superman and DEFINATLY NOT M:I:3. Casino Royale is contains fresh action sequences that will "WOW" you. Seriously, the action scenes are brilliantly constructed and I was just in shock how somebody could be that creative. From explosives to building jumps to car fliping. Now that saggy, old Pierce Brosnan is gone we also have a sexier James Bond film. The only reason that I didn't give this a 5 out of 5 is because sometimes Bond figured out something when I wasn't able to understand or follow, but the rest of the movie made up for that. It runs about 5 minutes too long but so does every other Bond film. Since this was the prequel to EVERY other Bond film it wasn't like other Bond films. There wasn't many gadgets and not much CGI. That really wasn't a problem though. Enjoy this original, adventurous film that is an honor to be in the 007 trilogy.

It took me about half way through this movie to start seeing Daniel Craig as Bond, but once it was firmly ingrained in my mind there was no turning back. Craig's Bond is really, REALLY tough, and could easily kick the other Bond's butts without breaking a sweat. This was a more darker Bond movie than the rest, which is what made it so good. I give it two thumbs, eight fingers and ten toes up!

From about the time of Roger Moore until recently, Bond has been on the down slide with me. Too cliche, too politically correct and too many gadgets. His audience stayed with him due to the image and loyalty. However that couldn't last forever. Thank goodness the directors heeded the call of Bond fans everywhere to return to what James Bond really is.... A tough and intelligent agent who can get himself out of any situation. The women love him and the men envy him. The way James Bond was always meant to be! I hope he never goes back to the last 25 years. Bond renewed.

Daniel Craig put a different edge of what a spy with a license to kill should really be. The new Bond film became tougher, brutal, serious..in other words, an action film worth seeing. Some didn't like it because it violated how Bond should act or look. I say Bond films need a little change especially when that change was for the better good of the film and the character itself. It was a totally different direction w/ Bond being just promoted as double '0' and 'probably' how he became a heartless macho to sorts of women he would eventually encounter. Overall, Daniel Craig is great here...well, except the overpouting mouth which is exceptionally sexy by the way..LOL. And that body is definitely a super-agent-body! As for the whole film...I say great actions..after all, you don't get a license to kill for being a nice guy.
