I have seen the film. More storyline and more action (and a bit more violence) than the lion the witch and the wardrobe movie. A few scenes made me jump. There are some good cameos and the story is simple enough to follow and you don't need a mythological dictionary to figure out what everything is. As far as anti-god goes. There is a bit of mystery about "free will" vs. "government control." It is interesting to question who the heroes and villains really are and what the outcome will be. Just enjoy the movie. I did not find any radical religious elements in the film yet. Some movies knock you over the head with symbolism. The Magisterium reminds me of the Roman Inquisition but other than that I would have to see the sequel to know more. The anti-god part is not apparent in this film but in my POV it was an interesting talking point. I was not offended in any way. I would like to know what "specifically" offended people about this film.

I didn't like the book very much, but I thought with all the special effects the movie might be worth seeing. Boy , was I wrong. When I repeatedly left the room without pausing the movie, I knew it was time to quit. The characters are unlikeable at best and the story line is just tedious. Don't waste your time with this one.

The story line may be a little weak - the acting and visuals make this a fun film. Seems like the pilot for a series to follow.

The main reason I did NOT like this movie was that there was no “ending”. The story, while quite nicely told and with fairly good graphics, suddenly stops dead in its tracks. We get to see a lot about the characters involved, but other than a so-so capture/trick-‘em/getaway sequence, the movie simply abruptly stops and the credits roll. It basically boils down to 2 major flaws. The first is that it leaves way too many loose ends and doesn’t wrap-up the climax event. The second is that the title really needed to let people know that there was more to the story planned, like “Star Wars Episode I”, or “History of the World Part I”. It doesn’t matter if they never filmed a “next part”, at least we would have known not to expect a conclusion.

Polar Bear. That's all I have to say. The story was boilerplate youth fantasy, with one dimensional characters and a plot that has already been done. Unlike some, however, I was relieved at the absence of Narnia's overt christian message. However, the armored bear was really, really cool. Almost cool enough, in fact, to redeem what was otherwise a so-so movie. But, for the more adult fantasy fan, this will ultimately fall short. If you want a movie for the kids to watch that doesn't have that preachy Aslan and has a really angry polar bear kicking butt, this is worth picking up.
